About Your Inspector

Mike Butts, Mountain Home Arkansas, Home Inspectior

I served over 20 years on active duty, 16 in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). This career provided me with the necessary skills to achieve a high degree of attention to detail. I have been involved in all aspects of residential construction, remodeling and home improvement. I am a graduate of the American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT) Master Home Inspector Course.

Construction materials and techniques have changed dramatically over the years and continue to change on a regular basis.  I dedicate a substantial amount of time staying current with these changes and honing my skills in order to provide my client with the best inspection possible.  While the Arkansas Home Inspector Registration Board (AHIB) requires that all licensed inspectors complete a minimum of 14 hours of continuing education annually (at least 8 hours in a classroom environment) I exceed these requirements.  Additionally, I am a Certified Member of InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors), the largest association in this field.  In order to remain a certified member I am required to complete a minimum of 24 CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) annually. I am also a member of the Arkansas Association of Real Estate Inspectors (AAREI). I follow the Arkansas Home Inspection Board and American Society of Home Inspectors Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

I utilize the best tools available to the home inspector to insure your home inspection is thorough and accurate. Your inspection report will be emailed to you within 24 hours of the inspection. I utilize a highly modified and improved version of InspectIT inspection software to complete your report. Each inspection report is tailored for each home. You will find the report easy to read and understand.

Photos of defects along with descriptive narratives and recommended courses of action are included. My report doesn’t just address major defects, there are also assessments of minor or cosmetic defects and recommended repairs and improvements which can save you money in the future.

Throughout my life I have set extremely high standards for myself. Rest assured, when I conduct your home inspection I will apply these same standards.
